As we trade the snowy, cold winter for a warm and hopeful spring, it’s the perfect time to for a spring reset and renew our internal environment just as much as the world outside. If you’ve been feeling a bit heavy or stagnant, here is a challenge to help you shed what no longer serves you and make room for a vibrant new season.
1. Physical Spring Cleaning: Spring Reset Edition
Your environment is a reflection of your mental space. Don’t just move boxes—clear them out. Local shelters and donation centers can make far better use of your unused items than a storage unit can.
-
- The Challenge: Commit to filling one garbage bag a month with clothes or items you no longer use and donate it to a cause or someone you care about.
-
- A Pro-Tip: Treat yourself to a set of matching hangers that actually “speak” to you. Replacing a mismatch of metal and plastic with something cohesive makes opening your closet an act of self-care rather than a chore.
2. Digital Detox
Digital clutter is a silent drain on our focus. If your inbox, unread texts, or photo gallery feel overwhelming, it’s time for a digital “deep clean.”
-
- Need help? If you’re struggling to start, reach out to Brianna Bass (Founder of Bee Virtual Admin). She specializes in streamlining your digital life to get you down to “Inbox Zero,” making room for new memories and meaningful connections. Feel free to email her at [email protected]
3. The “Med Cabinet” Check-In
If you’ve been feeling perpetually down or anxious, your wellness routine might need a refresh. While medication isn’t the “end-all, be-all,” it can be a vital starting point in combination with talk therapy. Use this season to check in with your provider and ensure your medicinal support is aligned with your current needs. If you have tried multiple different medications and still feel you’re struggling, Inagene is a great way to see which medication works best for your genetic make-up, and can help eliminate the guess work. 4. Mindful Maintenance: Journal & Meditate
To keep the “brain fog” at bay, consistency is key. I know my clients are sick of me suggesting this, because I say it all the time but I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to growth and healing during your spring reset!
-
- Journal: I’m a huge advocate for “brain dumps” and bullet-style journaling. Try committing to a pen-to-paper session twice a day, or, if that isn’t your style try using an app such as Daylio to track your moods.
-
- Meditate: Aim for at least 10 minutes of stillness daily. (I personally love using Insight Timer for this!)
5. Shake It Off (Literally)
Movement is medicine. Dance has profound trauma-healing properties. Whether you sign up for a formal class or simply “shake it off” in your living room to your favourite song, give your body permission to move. I am more than happy to help you design a perfect playlist for your mood and current era.
6. Run and Flow
-
- Running: I love running because of its simplicity, especially while traveling. You don’t need a gym, you just need the open road (or seaside).
-
- Yoga: As a trauma-informed yoga instructor, I cannot emphasize enough how vital yoga is for resetting the mind-body connection. Stay tuned for our “Yoga by the Lake” sessions returning this spring and summer!
7. Community for Healers
If you are a therapist looking for your own “reset,” I invite you to join my therapy collective, BYOB. We support one another’s growth and energy, and we have the ultimate reset to look forward to: Our 2027 Thailand Retreat!
